Rooted in Purpose. Rising on Purpose.

Recently the leadership at ProVia convened to establish our theme for the next five years. In doing so we determined that this theme should center on two key ideas.

First, we must remain grounded in what has made us who we are, our purpose. At ProVia we’re grounded by our shared purpose, “To let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven” (Adapted from Matthew 5:16). We need to study this, promote it, and multiply it so we are prepared and ready, no matter what challenges come our way.

Second, we must step up. We cannot shy away from leading boldly or taking responsibility when it’s needed most. These two truths live side by side, rooted and rising, grounded and growing. That’s why our theme for the next five years is: “Rooted in Purpose. Rising on Purpose.”

By staying rooted in purpose, we will draw strength from our values and the principles that have always distinguished us. At the same time, we will be rising on purpose, meeting the future with boldness and intentionality, shaping change, creating opportunity, and delivering excellence in all that we do.

There is an image from the book of Jeremiah that captures this message beautifully. We read in Jeremiah 17:7-8:

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

Wow! What a special place to be!

I believe that the next five years will bring rapid change, reshaping how we serve our customers and employees. To meet these challenges, we must continue to strengthen relationships, anticipate change, and accelerate innovation across every part of the business. We must remain rooted in purpose, drawing on the values that have always guided us, while rising on purpose, embracing opportunities to lead, innovate, and excel.
