To preserve this authentic look, both shake and shingle profiles were modeled after hand-picked cedar pieces using highly accurate laser scanning to ensure even the finest details were carried over into each Harbor Mill Shake and Shingle. The clean grain lines of Harbor Mill with its varying peaks and valleys create the authentic look of traditional cedar but with the versatility and ease of ownership that ProVia siding products are known for.
Harbor Mill Shingle and Shake siding is available in two unique profiles that coordinate well with ProVia’s vinyl siding and manufactured stone.
Sawn shingles are tapered due to the sawing process. The saw also helps make the shingles smoother which will show a more muted cross-graining. By design, shingles are more uniform and present a cleaner look.
Hand-split shakes typically show a more detailed woodgrain texture. The splitting process produces a wider range of ridges, grooves, and graining differences, resulting in a more rustic and rugged look.
