HOW TO CLEAN VINYL SIDING

Cleaning your ProVia vinyl siding is practically effortless. A quick wash with mild soapy water, a soft brush, and a rinse from your garden hose is all that’s needed to keep it looking its best.

For routine cleaning, use a mixture of dish soap and warm water. Working in sections, wet the siding with a garden hose, gently scrub with a soft-bristle brush, and rinse clean.

Harsh solvents, abrasive cleansers, and bleach are unnecessary and not recommended, as they may damage the siding and harm nearby plants.

A long-handled car wash brush is a convenient option, especially one that connects to a hose for a continuous flow of water while cleaning.

When washing the entire exterior, start at the bottom and work upward to help prevent streaking.

For stubborn stains, clean the area with a mixture of white vinegar and warm water or a diluted degreasing dish soap solution. Gently scrub with a soft brush using moderate pressure.

Cleaning any vinyl siding with a pressure washer is strongly discouraged; the force of the pressure may push water behind the panels or penetrate and damage sections of the siding. If you choose to use a pressure washer, be sure to adjust the PSI to the lowest setting and use a wide spray pattern rather than a concentrated jet spray, to avoid damage. Test in an inconspicuous area before cleaning the entire house.
