VINYL DUTCH LAP & CLAPBOARD SIDING

Clapboard siding and Dutch lap siding are two popular styles of siding that can be used to clad a home’s exterior. Both styles originated as features of wood siding, but ProVia’s super polymer vinyl clapboard and Dutch lap siding provide the beauty and character of authentic wood with much less upkeep.

PROVIA’S VINYL CLAPBOARD SIDING

Clapboard siding, also known as lap siding, came into use in America during the 17th century as the influx of new settlers made the construction of wood-intensive log cabins impractical. Cutting trees into thin planks nailed on top of boards became an early version of “green” construction, using far fewer trees in the construction of a home than a log cabin.

The adoption of manmade materials, like vinyl, to replace wood siding provided further environmental benefits, with siding that requires no repainting and lasts many years.
