STONE CALCULATOR GLOSSARY

Setting Bed: Mortar used to adhere the AMSV to the substrate or scratch coat.

Scratch Coat: Base coat of mortar used during the installation of AMSV; cross-raked to improve bond of subsequent mortar layers.

Weep Screed – A piece (often metal, vinyl, or another durable material) placed at the bottom of a stone veneer wall that lets trapped water escape, helping keep the wall dry and protected.
